Albany native Lisa Taylor, clarinet, was raised in the musically enthusiastic home of Mark & Marian Siddall. She has been married to Systems Engineer Doug Taylor for 19 years and is the mother of 16 year old cellist Rose Taylor. Lisa is a graduate of the music program at Oregon State University and completed her Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance at the University of Oregon, where she was honored as first runner-up in the 2000 University Concerto Competition for her performance of the Nielsen Clarinet Concerto. Her teachers included Steve Matthes, Dr. David Eiseman, Carol Robe, Dr. Deborah Reeves and Dr. Wayne Bennett. In addition to serving as the Principal Clarinet of the WVCO, Lisa performs in various capacities with the Newport Symphony, Oregon Mozart Players, and Corvallis-OSU Symphony. Her weekly gig for the past four years has been providing live music with various local musicians for Novak’s Hungarian Restaurant on Friday evenings. She is especially grateful to her former teachers Steve Matthes and James Douglass for the many opportunities that they have given to her to perform as soloist with the OSU Symphonic Band and Corvallis Community Band. |

Before moving to Eugene in 1997, Jaclyn LaRue was a member of the Spokane Symphony, the Connoisseur Concerts Chamber Music Society, the Dungeness Trio, the PASO Five Quintet, and, for 23 years, was principal oboe of the Port Angeles Symphony Orchestra and Port Angeles Chamber Orchestra. A former instructor of chamber music and soloist at the Festa Music Pro in Assisi, Italy, Ms. LaRue has numerous recital, chamber music, and concerto credits in sixteen countries in Asia, Europe, South America, and the Pacific Northwest. She is currently the Marketing and Development Director of Eugene Ballet Company and performs locally with the No Strings Attached Woodwind Quintet, the Riverside Chamber Symphony, the Corvallis Symphony, and the Willamette Valley Community Orchestra.
Ken Saul, principal trumpet with the Corvallis/OSU Symphony, holds the Bachelor of Music in Performance from San Francisco State University, where he studied with Joe Alessi, Sr. He continued his graduate studies in Music Composition at the Juilliard School before returning to San Francisco to study Electrical Engineering Technology. Ken also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from OSU. His Master of Science is in Engineering Management from NTU. He is presently employed as a senior engineer at Hewlett-Packard and as an Instructor of Trumpet at OSU.
Ken is a freelance performer around the region and has soloed regularly with the OSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, the Willamette Valley Concert Band, and in recitals. He gives frequent clinics on brass playing and instrument care around the region. |

![]() Currently a senior at Crescent Valley High School, 17 year old pianist Michael Sheng has won numerous piano awards in competitions, including the OSAA State Solo and Ensemble Competition, the Wiscarson Competition, the Elizabeth Stern Scholarship, the OMTA Concerto Competition, the Suzanne B. Raines Scholarship Competition, and the MTNA Junior Piano Competition. Michael has also been chosen to play at the OMTA State Bach Festival on four occasions, the OMTA State Ensemble Festival on three occasions, and the Portland International Piano Festival twice. He was also a finalist for the Metro Arts Incorporated Young Artists Competition under Neil Deponte. Michael studies piano with Dr. Rachelle McCabe at Oregon State University. Previous teachers include Mary Ann Guenther, Arthur Baines, and Bonnie Espensen. In addition to his piano studies, Michael is an equally accomplished violinist. He is the concertmaster of the Corvallis Youth Symphony and the Corvallis Camerata. Michael has soloed with the Corvallis Youth Symphony and the Corvallis Camerata, and also participated as a violinist in OSAA State Solo and Ensemble Competition, the MTNA Senior Strings Competition, the Oregon All-State Orchestra, and the All-Northwest Orchestra. He has studied violin with Fritz Gearhart, Clarisse Atcherson, Aida Baker, and currently studies with Carol Sindell. Along with piano and violin, Michael is also a composer and was chosen as an OMTA Honored Composer in 2007 and received the Goldie Rogers Composition Award in 2007 for his Piano Concerto in C Major. Michael is an avid sports fan and has played on the Crescent Valley High School Varsity Tennis Team since sophomore year, plays basketball at the Timberhill Athletic Club, and goes on daily long distance runs and swims. He also has an interest in learning languages and is fluent in English and the Chinese dialects of Cantonese and Mandarin. Michael plans to attend college and major in microbiology with either a minor in or double majoring in piano performance. |

Cellist Andrew Kolb has performed as a soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States as well as in Canada, England, Switzerland and Sweden. For six years he was a member of the Fairmount String Quartet and principal cellist of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra. Committed to new music, Andrew has premiered several works as a member of Acidophilus (live culture), a new music sextet made up of young American and Scandinavian musicians. They have toured Sweden and gave their U.S. debut at the Scandinavian House in New York City. He has also premiered works in New York City as a member of the Stony Brook Chamber Players.
Andrew studied with Timothy Eddy at SUNY Stony Brook, Ross Harbaugh at University of Miami, and Steven Doane at the Eastman School of Music. He has taught on university faculties in Newfoundland (Canada) and Kansas. Summer festival appearances include Taos, Norfolk, Spoleto, Sarasota, Bach Aria, Fontana, Oregon Coast, Cascade, Oregon Bach, Ernen, and Prussia Cove. He is currently principal cellist of the Eugene Symphony Orchestra. |
